Penzion Thallerův Dům occupies a historic building in Český Krumlov’s centre, just 250 m from the Egon Schiele Art Centre and a 10‑minute walk to Krumlov Castle. Elegant apartments feature wooden floors, satellite TV, kitchenette with microwave, fridge, coffee maker, and free wired internet; some offer castle views. Breakfast nearby at Restaurant Mastal; public parking available.

Breakfast could be packed to go. The bedding in the room was white and clean.

It had a funky charm, the price was great, and the rooms were clean and spacious; free breakfast was a bonus. Checking in was in a nearby restaurant, so we had to lug luggage over cobblestones to a storage spot before check‑in and again at check‑out, which was cumbersome and should be clearly communicated when booking. Also, this place isn’t suitable for anyone with physical limitations.

From the room you could see the castle tower, the owner was very nice, gave us a bottle of wine, and offered free luggage storage; the breakfast was also very good. The only drawback was that there was no elevator.

The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was excellent, but there were no German TV channels.
