The restaurant food was excellent, and breakfast was good. The accommodation is very dated and the room is quite small.

“Nice small rooms and a restaurant to have a retreat in vineyards nearby to Bordeaux”

The property sits in vineyards, a 30‑minute drive from Bordeaux centre, and offers a large car‑free walking area that made it safe for kids to roam. The rooms were clean and the mattresses comfortable, and the staff were friendly and eager to accommodate most requests. However, the terraces are very small and narrow, and sound insulation is poor—TVs, showers, and even TV in rooms two rooms away were audible. Staff demanded payment at the front desk before we saw the room, and later the restaurant told us that because we paid for the room in advance we could not pay for food at checkout; this restriction should have been explained politely. The restaurant was decent but not worth high gastronomic expectations; the dishes often reused the same ingredients as neighbours’ plates. The staff were skilled salespeople, offering wine tastings and then delivering a different vintage than the one chosen. The kids’ menu was the same each day—cordon bleu with fries and a muffin. Taxi wait times averaged 20‑30 minutes in the area. The pool was open and operational, but it was too cold for anyone to use.

The location is nice. The rooms are basic but offer lovely views from ours.
