I was surprised to find the hotel tucked right in the old town’s courtyard, not the open‑air spot shown in the pictures; you have to walk in. The staff were friendly and did their best, and the breakfast buffet was great – except the coffee was awful. I booked a 5‑star property in Asia, so I expected at least a 4‑star experience, but it turned out to be more like a mid‑level 3‑star place with decent breakfast. We were assigned to a nearby branch of the hotel chain that had no elevator and a cramped staircase, and the room had four beds that we didn’t need. There was no city view from the third floor; you’d have to go up to the seventh floor to see anything. The pool had been unusable since last summer, yet no one apologized or mentioned it in the brochure. The photos of the surroundings give a false impression – it’s just a back‑street courtyard with several entrances close together, but the hotel isn’t a single cohesive building.

The team was friendly and helpful, making sure all our requests were met. The only downside was that the hotel only offered the basic amenities.

The hotel is well‑situated near good restaurants and a large mall, and the Wi‑Fi works well; the rooms were cleaned daily. The only real let‑down was the TV setup – just basic channels, no smart features, which even cheaper hotels now provide.

The pool, free shuttle, proximity to markets and malls, and the staff’s warmth were all positives. The bed was unbearably hard; we stayed for seven days and it was so uncomfortable that we didn’t ask for a room change because of language barriers. We were only given three pillows for two people, and when I requested another at reception they said they would bring it up. Two hours later I called reception again and they told me it would cost 150 baht for an extra pillow – what? We also asked for extra towels and were told no. The room wasn’t cleaned properly throughout our stay; it was serviced daily but not truly cleaned until the last day, when it finally smelled fresh. The air‑con was disgusting, smelling of mold and very loud. We found cockroaches and mold in the bathroom. Guests were partying loudly until the early morning, and the reception let them be there with no curfew, which was not considerate. The motel’s facilities are outdated and need work; the gym equipment is mediocre and too exposed, so people can see you from outside.
