Kalavryta was a wonderful discovery, though I wish I could have stayed longer. The mountain village offers nature, cuisine, and a relaxed lifestyle. I tried a honey‑and‑beer braised pork shank at a tavern that left a lasting impression. The “Guesthouse Armakas” room was very spacious, but the bathroom could have been larger. It’s a stone mountain building, and the stairwell to the rooms is a bit steep; a handrail along the wall would improve safety. Also, there was no reception—everything was handled by phone codes, so I didn’t meet anyone. The lack of a handrail on the stairwell leading to the rooms is a drawback.

I came back for a second visit and found the spot still fantastic; the location was spot‑on, the interior stayed true to tradition with a fireplace, and the hostess was incredibly kind and accommodating, so I’ll definitely return.

Everything was perfect: the rooms were spotless, the hospitality was great, and the rooms were in the center, so I could do everything on foot.
