Residence Inn Costa Mesa Newport Beach is a 3.5-mile drive from John Wayne Airport, offering free Wi-Fi and an outdoor pool. Spacious rooms feature a separate lounge and dining area, equipped with kitchenware, dishwasher, oven, stove, and full refrigerator/freezer. Breakfast buffet is included, and free evening socials offer beer, wine, and light appetizers. The hotel is 5 miles from Newport Beach and 13 miles from Disneyland.

Breakfast was decent; bagels and eggs were good, though I skipped oatmeal because it looked watery. I loved how spacious the King‑Studio room was—plenty of room and a small kitchen! I was shocked when staff told me the pet fee was $150, no matter if you stay one night or a week. They said it covered cleaning supplies after the dog stays, yet the floor is carpeted, not hardwood. I paid $179 for the room, not including tax, and then had to pay that extra pet fee—it’s absolutely ludicrous. I would never stay there again and only recommend it to people without pets.

I sent a cancellation notice through Booking .com. I never received a confirmation from the hotel that the reservation was cancelled

The room was clean and comfortable, but the coffee in the room wasn’t good.
