The owner was extremely kind, friendly, and helpful, offering free rides to and from town and the station whenever needed. The manager was also friendly and replied to messages almost instantly. The room itself was beautiful, full of character and atmosphere. Unfortunately, the overall condition and cleanliness of the house were very disappointing. The old building clearly needed renovation, and the lack of proper maintenance made it feel dirty—dust, cobwebs, and grime were everywhere, making us uncomfortable touching many items. The onsen was old, worn, and dirty; aside from changing the bed linen, the house seemed uncleaned for a long time. Wallpaper was peeling, the toilet was dirty and poorly maintained. It must have once been beautiful, but in its current state it feels unsuitable for guests. The poor condition and lack of cleanliness were major issues, and the location was inconvenient: the house sits high in a forested village with no views, and walking around after dark is difficult. We largely depended on the owner’s kindness to drive us; it takes about 30 minutes by bus from town, then another 20–25 minutes on foot from the village.
