The cooked‑to‑order breakfast was delicious and the staff were kind. The restaurant closed at 4 pm on Sunday, the day we arrived; we had an early dinner there and it was yummy. I wanted to stay another night, but the restaurant closed on Monday at the same time. Very inconvenient after a day touring the local sites.

The property looked beautiful and traditional, and the service was even better. They were very relaxed about my late check‑out because no one was booked the next day, so I could enjoy brunch with friends and then return to change before heading to the airport. The breakfast was fantastic—fresh, delicious, and I could pre‑order what I wanted. Nothing negative; I loved every minute. The only comment is that the WiFi box in my room sits on the top of the wall, its blue light is very bright and acts like a beacon. I brought an eye mask so it was fine, but if you don’t, it’s slightly annoying; maybe a painting could cover it. Other than that minor issue, it was perfect.

Set among vineyards with easy access to Krems, the hotel is a quiet, beautiful spot with a nice pool, fantastic wine and food – especially the breakfast – and the staff were very friendly and helpful. However, the restaurant is closed at 5 pm four days a week, the room lacks a fridge so you can’t chill the excellent local wine for an evening drink, and I would have appreciated a chilled wine fridge for non‑wine lovers after the restaurant closes.

When we arrived we could pick between two rooms, and we went for the one with the morning sun and a view over the vineyards; the air‑conditioning there worked wonderfully. The pool was busy and absolutely delightful, and we had the option to order breakfast ahead of time, which arrived freshly prepared and served.
