Lisha Mawella

A lovely quiet spot ten minutes by tuk‑tuk from the bustle of Hiriketiya. A couple of minutes’ walk takes you to a gorgeous, calm beach that we practically had all day to ourselves. Our hosts were so lovely and the accommodation fit our needs perfectly—very clean and well maintained. We would 100 % stay again.

We had two wonderfully relaxed days. The beautifully decorated room invites you to unwind with cozy beds, a spacious balcony, and a stunning garden. What made it even better was a warm host and a fresh, lovingly prepared breakfast. We’ll definitely come back!

A beautifully located accommodation with a truly friendly host who welcomed us warmly. The beach is no five‑minute walk away and absolutely gorgeous. We’ll gladly return.

Lisha was by far the best accommodation we had in Sri Lanka. It’s new and modernly furnished. The beach isn’t far, though the walk isn’t “beautiful” and you pass a few piles of trash, which you can ignore. At the beach there are two to three beach bars for snacks during a beach day. Mawella itself offers little restaurant choice, but a scooter takes you to Tangalle in about fifteen minutes. We especially want to highlight the host Supun, who helped us with everything and was always there for us—no matter what we needed. Very friendly and accommodating! Nothing negative.

A nicely decorated room with everything you need. A very friendly host who gave us many tips, also drives a tuk‑tuk and offers surf lessons. Everything you could wish for was taken care of :)
