“Pueblo mágico.”
We were greeted by Sarah, who was incredibly friendly and cleaned our room daily. She offered cutlery if we wanted to eat. The patio is beautiful with an amazing view, and the village itself is lovely. The Wi‑Fi was almost non‑existent. The village only has one nighttime restaurant, and sometimes it’s closed. There is no supermarket; the nearest one is 20 minutes away and closes early. Rooms only have a fan, so it was very hot in August. The area is difficult to walk or park in. Still, the price‑quality ratio makes it worth staying and driving around the area.
“Gerne wieder”
The room was nice and the garden was lovingly arranged with a great view over Tuscany. The place is original and charming.
A charming place with extraordinary hospitality! We stayed at La Corte di Ardengo and the property turned out to be simply wonderful. The rooms are spotless, very comfortable, and meticulously detailed. The terrace, in particular, is enchanting and offers a magical atmosphere for relaxing. A special thanks to Mrs. Sara: an extraordinary person, extremely welcoming, kind, and caring, who really makes a difference and makes you feel at home from the first moment. The village of Civitella Marittima is an ideal and very peaceful base for exploring the area. Highly recommended, we’ll definitely come back with great pleasure!
“Tolles Flair und gemütliche Unterkunft in einer kleinen historischen Altstadt.”
Sara is a very helpful, open, and friendly host who gives plenty of tips and answers questions. She is reachable when needed but not intrusive. The décor is cozy and lovingly done, matching the historic town’s style. Everything is spotless. The highlight is the wonderful terrace with a stunning view of the Tuscan landscape, perfect for relaxing or a small picnic. Breakfast wasn’t offered, but there’s a nice bar nearby with espresso and fresh pastries, where you can have a typical Italian breakfast with locals. Civitella Marittima is a pretty small town with about 400 residents, yet lively with several bars, an excellent restaurant, La Locanda nel Cassero, small shops for strolling and groceries, and even a hairdresser or beautician. We really enjoyed it and would return. In August it was very hot, even at night, and a fan helped cool us, but the nights were somewhat restless.
“Vita vera, e vita lenta lontano dal caos cittadino.”
The staff were SUPER welcoming. We spent hours talking about travel and local culture. They’re truly passionate about their work. I won’t ramble, but I highly recommend the property for its location, tranquility, and the staff.
