I stayed in a very quiet, quaint spot that was low‑key and super relaxing, and I liked everything—just wish there were blackout curtains in the room.

The location is unbeatable, right on Camino Del Mar with a view of the Pacific Ocean; the rooms are beautiful, funky, old, and a little bit falling apart, parking is easy, the staff are friendly, they serve coffee and fruit in the morning, and they invite guests into the common areas—an easy, comforting place if you don’t mind a bit of gentle dilapidation; I’ve stayed here eight or ten times and love it, though the October heat wave made the west‑facing room hot, which is beyond anyone’s control.
