“Everything about the room was great, but the problem with the lock is a safety issue.”
The hotel offered great value: a spacious room with a fully stocked kitchenette—full‑size fridge, freezer, rice cooker, pots/pans, tea kettle, microwave, and a combo washer/dryer. The shower had both handheld and rain heads, the toilet featured a bidet, and a hair dryer was available. Plenty of closet space with hangers and drawers, plus a minisplit with remote to keep cool. The electronic lock on the room door failed and someone opened it in the middle of the night on the first night; there was no secondary lock or deadbolt/chain to stop this. A staff member “fixed” it the next morning, yet on two occasions during my two‑week stay I returned to find the door unlocked. Because of the earlier incident, I always checked the doorknob before tapping the keycard on the sensor, just to be sure the room was locked. Mostly it worked, but I’m not sure if it was a housekeeping slip‑up; this type of lock should engage automatically when the door closes. I kept no valuables in the room because of this and stored them at a relative’s home. The room had a safe, but either the instructions were wrong or it was faulty; I couldn’t reopen it with the code I entered. There was no iron or ironing board.
