“Frische Backwaren gibt es nicht mehr, weil die Gäste alles klauen”
We cancelled on site and found another place for the night. Oddly, fresh baked goods were no longer available at breakfast because "guests steal everything."
We cancelled on site and did not stay the night. First, we had to call and ask if someone would let us in, even though the sign said we were within the supposed opening hours. A quarter‑hour later, an older, somewhat grumpy man arrived, and greeting was not his thing, but he let us in. I didn’t let it slide and personally extended my hand to greet him. We were clearly the only guests. The B&B is a single‑family house with about three to four rooms on a dead‑end street outside town. Initially, the owner took us to a room without a balcony, even though we had booked one. It smelled musty. After asking, he moved us to the neighboring room with a balcony, which was also not as inviting as shown in the photos and still musty. Ventilation before guests arrive is over‑emphasized. Breakfast for the next day was self‑served in a “buffet” style in a seating area at the entrance. There were crackers and toast, packaged spreads, a coffee machine with pods, maybe condensed milk, tea, and sugar – I can’t recall more. When we asked if there would be fresh baked goods the next morning, as is typical with an Italian breakfast, the owner said, “We don’t do that anymore because guests steal everything.” He did offer cake, opening the fridge to reveal a third of a pre‑cut cake (ready‑made), uncovered! The fridge was otherwise empty. We spoke Italian and gave him a friendly note that the online presentation was far from reality.
