The location was great and the staff were nice. Unfortunately the bar had already closed after an event at the Westfalenhalle.

We liked the location and the genuinely friendly staff—whether at the reception, bar, or restaurant, it was all very pleasant. The rooms were also good. I love fried eggs, so I wish I’d known that they could actually be ordered beforehand; there were none at the buffet. I’d also prefer normal coffee at the table instead of always queuing at the machine. The desk chair was broken, but that’s just petty complaining. We’ll definitely come back.

The interior of the hotel is a real surprise – the grey concrete exterior hides a bright, airy vibe inside. My room was spacious, with plenty of storage in an open wardrobe, and came stocked with a kettle, instant coffee, tea, two bottles of water (still and medium), a cup, a glass, and a bathrobe for the wellness area. A comfy armchair, a desk, and a well‑maintained bathroom added to the comfort. The room temperature and noise level were good, though you could hear a neighbor opening or closing doors a bit loudly, yet overall privacy felt preserved. When I told reception that the safe was beeping (battery likely dead), they fixed it promptly. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The gym was another highlight – clean, high‑quality equipment, small training guides, a water dispenser, disinfectant wipes, and spare towels, with a shower or pool right next to it. Breakfast was impressive and worth the price, especially the two espresso machines that offered both dairy and vegan milk options. The variety of hot and cold dishes, breads, pastries, cereals, egg options, and fresh fruit left nothing to wish for, and the selection of juices deserved praise. The cleaning routine was irritating: I usually don’t mind daily housekeeping, but the hotel doesn’t offer a choice and promises daily coffee refills, towel changes, and bin emptying. In my case, cleaning started at 15:30 and finished by emptying the living‑area bin and collecting all towels, the bath mat, and smoothing one of the two blankets (they were both still hanging on the rack). The bathroom bin stayed full, no fresh towels or bath mat were provided, coffee wasn’t refilled, and used cups and bottles were left where they were. Trying to call reception failed because the phone was broken. I ended up laying a bath towel on the floor and drying my hands on it – not a huge issue for a two‑night stay, but it was annoying and disappointing, especially since this cleaning issue keeps popping up in reviews. The receptionist apologized sincerely at checkout. The pool area was spacious with plenty of loungers, but it was so cold that I stayed in the water instead of on a lounger. Lying on a lounger felt uncomfortable, and for two consecutive days there were no towels in the entire area – something a cleaner should have noticed. The fee for borrowing a rain umbrella is debatable.
