We had to book Ilanga on very short notice, and it turned out to be an amazing experience. Clive, our host, was attentive and very accommodating, going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The pool was clean and welcoming, and pool towels were provided because we forgot to bring our own. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the braai area is amazing. The road to the lodge is gravel and a bit hectic in places; my low‑slung Mazda 2 made it a little hair‑raising and slower than expected, so don’t bring a low‑slung car. Also note that this is a self‑catering establishment, so bring everything you need.
