Zanzibar Ocean View Hotel

The spot looks out over the sea. Everything feels very run down, yet it’s priced high compared to other places in Zanzibar—40 € for a late check‑out. Breakfast was almost nothing, even though there were hardly any other guests. The cleaning crew seemed eager to leave the room before the official check‑out time.

“Good for low budget stay, but wouldn't recommend with family with kids.”

The location is good, close to Stone Town. The room was fine, and breakfast was also good with a nice view from the dining area. The mosquito nets were old and fragile, and there were too many crows during breakfast. More pictures of the road would have helped before arrival, because it was mostly litter and felt like a “Wong Turn” movie set. The beach was also littered.

I was a bit surprised by this place, it's a bit rough around the edges but the staff were really helpful and friendly. The room was small but spotless, and the location is great - it's right in the heart of the city. However, the hotel itself is a bit of a letdown, there aren't many facilities and it feels a bit run down. Overall, it's a decent option if you're on a tight budget, but don't expect too much in terms of luxury.

The hotel's location was a major letdown for me. It was way too far from the city center, which meant I had to spend a lot of money on transportation. This put a big time constraint on my city explorations, and I ended up having to prioritize what I wanted to see. Overall, it was a bit of a hassle.

The ocean view from the bedroom was the highlight of our stay, but unfortunately, that was about it. The rest of the hotel was pretty unimpressive.
