The breakfast was okay, but the cleanliness left a lot to be desired; a few animals had taken up residence on the roof and were very active at night. The bathroom door knob was missing and the blinds in the bedroom were broken. Even the garden lacked attention to detail.

The location is stunning and right next to Otranto, but the stair that links the bedroom to the bathroom is steep.

We booked the room in mid‑September, only to find the entire property closed upon arrival, with dirty chairs and tables on the balcony, an empty jacuzzi, and grimy windows, as if it had been shut for weeks. After several calls I reached the owner, who suggested I book another hotel—thanks for that, I found a much better and cheaper option. She didn’t charge my card, and the area is beautiful near Orte.

This place is unique, blending modernity with old charm, and it works well for long stays, especially if you chat about foreign languages with the friendly, professional staff who are the best at what they do; we felt comfortable and had a great start to our Puglia tour. However, more staff would be helpful and the mini fridges need replacement, even though the main fridge is freely accessible.
