I love this pub‑hotel; it’s very quaint, friendly, and the furnishings and rooms are comfy with spacious beds and great bathrooms—nothing I didn’t like.

The location was great, the place clean and warm, and I slept well, but there was a big crack in the shower tray and it felt pricey, especially since there was no breakfast.

The staff were friendly, the room was big, the bed super comfy, and it sat right in the centre of town; however, the property didn’t serve breakfast, so we had to eat elsewhere, even though we knew this when booking and the price reflected it—regrettable, because the daytime food looked decent and I’m sure they could have offered a great breakfast.

The location was perfect, right in the centre of Helmsley, but there was a lack of communication about breakfast availability and where to drop keys if we left early, and the loud live music that night wasn’t mentioned—felt a bit like Faulty Towers!
