“Terribile da dimenticare”

There was nothing positive to mention; they didn’t accommodate any of our small requests, offered no late checkout, had no availability, and the room was never clean despite staying four nights and only getting it changed once, then they misplaced our luggage left at reception in the morning, and after three hours we finally retrieved it, almost missing our flight.

The hotel sits right in the city center, which I liked. The only thing that could use a tweak is the limited Wi‑Fi usage.

“Very convenient, would definitely return”

Sky Hotel, Kota Kinabalu After researching accommodation in Kota Kinabalu, I came across this hotel. We were travelling around Sabah for 26 days and needed a comfortable base with a pool and breakfast included. We stayed here for 4 nights on arrival, returned for 1 night mid-trip, and finished with another 2 nights before flying home. It worked perfectly as a base throughout our journey. The location is very convenient — close to the airport and within easy reach of the waterfront, making it simple to get around. The hotel mainly caters to Malaysian guests, which we really appreciated as we weren’t looking for a typical Western tourist spot. It gave the stay a more local, authentic feel. Pricing was very good for what you get. Rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Breakfast exceeded expectations with a good variety each morning, and the rooftop pool was a highlight — offering great views over the city and towards the airport, especially at sunset. Overall, it was exactly what we needed: a comfortable, well-located, good-value hotel that worked perfectly as a base while travelling around Sabah. Didn’t like the way they charged us for an extra blanket, thought this should have been complimentary. Had to complain about a dirty sink, towel and hairs on the toilet in our 3rd return. No problem, I complained and it was seen to immediately

“Zeer zeer slecht.”

This place shouldn’t be called a four‑star hotel at all – it was the worst hotel we’ve ever encountered. At check‑in we were given rooms we hadn’t booked, and when we pointed it out they claimed we’d received an upgrade to better rooms, which was false. Confronted, they said our original rooms were no longer available, presumably given to other guests because they were fully booked. The maintenance was terrible, with broken fixtures and ripped curtains; housekeeping was poor, leaving everything dirty and moldy, and the bed linens were stained and grimy. The whole property felt old and run‑down. It was so bad we booked elsewhere and left, and it wasn’t just one room – three families with three rooms all experienced the same issues. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

“Une bonne adresse pour 1 nuit”

The location was great and the suite felt spacious, with all the basics covered for a single night and a very good breakfast, but being on the top floor meant we could hear the traffic as if the cars were right inside the room because the soundproofing was terrible.
