“HOTEL VIVEMENT RECOMMANDE”

The small hotel is straightforward, with very honest rates, offering all the comforts we wanted (elevator, air conditioning), ideally located (just near the bus stations and the port) with a superb view of the port, the fortress, and Dia Island. Our room had a large balcony overlooking the sea. All points of interest are within 10 minutes on foot, and the bus to Knossos is 3 minutes from the hotel. The street is quiet, the main road is farther away, near the port. Sure, there’s airplane noise—like everywhere in Heraklion—but it’s easy to ignore, and who can complain when you arrive in Crete by plane? Good breakfasts. Especially the staff at reception, adorable, extremely kind, very helpful and attentive. Everyone helped make our stay unforgettable. Nothing to complain about.

“Agréable étape...”

A good hotel next to the ferry embarkation port, a big advantage in the morning. Just a ten‑minute walk. Relatively quiet and also close to the city center. The room was comfortable, the staff very welcoming, and the breakfast was good, available from 06:30. Not very convenient if you’re driving, though.

“OK for a brief stopover in a good location, but not the best”

The beds were fairly comfy, the balcony offered a great view, and the location was nice. Breakfast was good, especially the orange‑juice squeezer. Some staff were quite rude. The toilet was very dirty. Certain areas in the room hadn’t been cleaned properly and were dirty. The bathroom sometimes smelled bad—there seemed to be plumbing issues.

We left early. The front‑desk guys arranged coffee and a light breakfast. Thanks a lot, guys, see you again!
