I stayed at a brand‑new hotel with a clean, spacious room that offered a view of the fjord; it’s just a few minutes from Akureyri, so you either drive into town or grab a bite before checking in, but they do serve free breakfast. No complaints.

During my recent round around Iceland, this was the hotel I liked most; the owner was very friendly, breakfast was great, and as soon as I opened the door I could see the grass and a beautiful view—truly stunning.

The hotel is pleasant and the view of Akureyri’s port and city is great; the residential location keeps it very quiet. The nearby Forrest lagoon is a bonus. The room got too hot, so I slept with the patio door and windows open all night.

Das Hotel ist sehr schön, klein und ruhig, liegt in Hanglage gegenüber von Akureyri. Der Panoramablick auf den Fjord, die Brücke, die Stadt und die Berge ist fantastisch. Das Zimmer ist gemütlich, geräumig und die Betten sehr bequem. Das Frühstück ist einfach, aber sehr gut. Nichts, oder… leider keine Nordlichter wegen Bewölkung, aber das kann das Hotel nicht ändern.

The view was stunning, and breakfast gave me a solid meal to start a full day of exploration. They didn’t make our bed after cleaning the room.
