The room was comfortable and nicely sized, with plenty of free parking and friendly, welcoming staff. The evening meal was delicious – the sticky toffee pudding is a must! Breakfast was lovely. The thin walls meant you could clearly hear noise from the pub downstairs and other rooms, and the shower had occasional bursts of very hot water.

We’ve been to this place before and came back just to check out the rooms, and it turned out to be a great experience. The food was amazing, the village itself is lovely, and the pub feels super cozy. The room we stayed in was beautiful, very peaceful and calm – we slept like a log that night! On the downside, there was no hot water, which wasn’t the pub’s fault but was a real inconvenience, and the issue wasn’t handled in the best way at first. We were offered a discounted rate that helped, but we also ended up in the wrong room; we had booked a room specifically for the free‑standing bath, which we couldn’t use.
