The rooms are decent for the price, clean, with a nice view and hot water available. However, the hotel sits 3 km from Nainital Lake and a taxi costs 500 for a single ride. It could work in summer, but the daily commute is hard. My room lock’s pins broke and they had to hammer it open.

The hotel is far from the lake and getting transport is difficult; it sometimes took half a day to get there. The cost is high, with a round trip around 1000–1200 Rs., which feels wasteful.
