“Very disappointing and wish we’d stayed at the pub up the road instead.”

Breakfast was decent and the location was convenient, yet the reception staff were rude and often absent. Pets were supposedly free, but we were told upon arrival that each dog cost £35 per night, with no extra facilities. The rooms were old, low‑quality flat‑pack furniture, resembling an 80s pub more than a hotel or spa.

“Never again”

The en‑suite drains smelled awful, making the room almost uninhabitable. I asked for a 50 % discount and they agreed, but insisted the refund had to come in a shameful way. The treatment of customers was disgraceful.

Sunday breakfast was solid, and the bar lad was helpful and hardworking. The disabled room was at the end of a very long hallway, with no socket by the bed and impossible toilet space for someone on crutches. We waited 30 minutes for a receptionist to check us in. The rolls used in burgers were awful, hard, and inedible. Only two disabled parking spots were available, insufficient. The whole property looks tired, with piles of rubbish outside the room window – a nice touch. A car even parked almost in my room.

“Disappointing”

The leisure pool and sauna were good, but the dining fell short. We booked a table for my wife’s birthday, dressed up for dinner, and arrived on time. Even though the restaurant wasn’t busy, we waited 15 minutes before seating. Starters – just bread and balsamic – took 20 minutes to arrive. After finishing, we waited a similar time for the main course. The menu was identical to the bar’s, offering only standard fare like beef burger and pizza. My gammon was thick, hard to cut, and overly salty, nearly inedible. My wife’s burger was acceptable, but we left the meal half‑eaten. The waitress apologized for the delay, but it was too late. The wait times and food quality ruined the birthday, so I’d advise others to avoid this place entirely. We’ll never return.
