We stayed in the Lion Suite with a daybed and could watch elephants and hippos right from the terrace. Dinner was served at beautifully set tables, which was very appealing. The buffalo game drive was good, though we didn’t spot any lions. The village walk was the highlight. The pool area was a bit crowded and people kept passing by, so it could be improved.

The lodge sits nicely by the river under shady trees. We had a very comfortable suite with a large terrace, and the air‑conditioning was essential at night because of the unusually high temperatures. Across from the lodge you often see wildlife (buffalo core) and many rhinos. Dinner was tasty. Lunch items were too expensive. Dinner, served at two long tables with assigned seats, actually took two hours or more; better organization or a buffet would help so that the large salad bowl doesn’t have to be passed around among many guests. Overall, it’s a very nice, recommendable lodge with an African vibe despite the German ownership.

“Disappointing”

The tents were lovely and the quality matched what you'd expect for Africa, but the German‑influenced staff were very unfriendly and seemed to ignore us entirely—probably because we didn't book the pricey excursions. Their rudeness made the experience disappointing.

We stayed right on the river and watched a hippo show from our terrace; the accommodation was excellent and the whole stay was great.
