“Paguei barato, mas não valeu a economia”
The area is quiet and safe, though there’s no pharmacy or market within walking distance. It’s inside a square that’s not very preserved but still pleasant, with very little traffic. The hotel made an exception for my late check‑in after 22:00, which ended up even later because my flight was delayed, and the room had a fan. When I arrived, the room had already been assigned to someone else, but because they had already made the late‑check‑in exception I didn’t want to cause trouble. The bathroom was terrible—less than 1 m² for a shower, clearly adapted but very poorly, with the shower turning toward a broken door and soaking the whole room, which has no drain or window to dry. There was no soap or shampoo holder, and the shelves for hanging clothes and luggage were infested with termites, so I found wood dust on my belongings the first morning. Even though the square is nice, it’s far from the street, so you have to plan to call ride‑share or delivery apps. The internet didn’t work in the room, which made working difficult. There was no desk, so I had to sit on the bed by the window to use the Wi‑Fi. It was impossible to hold meetings, but I could send emails. The windows had mosquito nets, but the door was open with a 5 cm gap, letting mosquitoes in just the same.
