“Nice hotel but skip on the breakfast”
We chose this spot because it was close to The Theatre at the Mill, and the hotel was tidy with decent facilities and parking. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, and even though the hotel knew about it when we booked, they never sent us a greeting or acknowledgement, which left us feeling a bit let down. The breakfast, however, was a disaster: we both ordered a full fry with fried egg, but both eggs were raw and slimy around the yolk, the half tomato was only flash‑seared on top and as hard as a brick, the mushrooms were steamed and unpleasant, the bacon was hard and steamed, the sausages were salty, and the hash browns were soggy and undercooked. We had hoped for a solid start to the day, but it fell short.
