Mitiana Lodge Huahine

The beach across the street was great for snorkeling, especially in front of the Le Mahana hotel. Kimi, the manager, is super nice. Breakfast included baguette with coffee or tea and fresh fruit, which was excellent. The Mitiana is still a work in progress; they need to pour concrete in front of the bath house, and the current stones are painful to walk on with bare feet.

“Un peu déçu”

The host who wasn't the usual couple was charming, and the beach was close by, small but pretty. Still, there were a lot of issues I’ll mention to help them improve. The breakfast was very basic, only German jam in a plastic container, which was a real let‑down. Everything in the kitchen felt old. Rooms were very rustic, offering only the essentials. You have to pay €10 per day for air conditioning and another €10 if you want to do laundry. The fan was noisy. Contrary to many reviews, I didn’t find the location very clean, and that’s a shared opinion. Having a private outdoor bathroom that requires passing through the kitchen isn’t practical, the indoor bathroom had no hot water, and there was a large opening onto the kitchen so everyone could hear you in the bathroom. The kitchen sink was clogged, so doing dishes with water that didn’t drain was unpleasant; overall it was very basic and old‑fashioned (no hot water either). The lounge should be rearranged to feel more welcoming, because right now it’s set up in a way that makes people not want to go there. In fact, nobody sits in the lounge. Sorry for the criticism.

The owners were nearby, the breakfast was good, and the beach was close. The toilets and showers were private but located outside the accommodation. The room was small, had no storage, the bedding needed replacing, and the car had to be isolated.

“Authentique et conviviale”

A genuine, lush island with instant beach access right across from the lodge, friendly vibes with fellow guests, and the highlight was meeting Thema and Mitiana, lovely hosts from Huahine, an island that struck us with its uniqueness. No negatives.

“Un lodge au milieu d’un beau parc”

Mitiana and Tema welcomed us with care, were available to drive us to the airport, the beach and eateries were nearby, and the house stayed quiet. The lodge’s layout encourages interaction and camaraderie among guests.
