It’s a very comfortable place; even though we didn’t stay in the castle itself but in an annex building, it’s truly a little slice of paradise.

I found that some chateaus are far more appealing; the owner is very helpful. From the outside the chateau looks fine, but inside it feels more like a plain, simple hotel. The breakfast was good, and the Lascaux caves are steeply uphill from here. I drove myself. The staircase to the first floor is ugly, and the floral pictures on the walls say nothing; photos of the Lascaux wall art would have been better. There’s no air‑conditioning, but luckily it stayed cool at night.

The chateau is gorgeous and the owner greeted us warmly. Our room was huge and the breakfast excellent. The location is perfect for walking to the Lascaux caves II and IV, and you can park right in front of the chateau.

Breakfast was decent, the view was stunning, and the pool was open on the last day of operation. There was no jacuzzi because of a leak, but the room was lovely.

The atmosphere was calm, the proximity to the town of Lascaux and the ability to walk to the caves (a good walk, though) were nice, the pool was a bit far from the rooms but still secure, the breakfast had quality products, and a special mention to the owner who returned a forgotten blanket to us. It was hot during our stay, forcing us to open windows and doors to make the night comfortable, and in the Périgord, bring anti-mosquito measures.
