It’s a nice and inviting place, clean, and the staff are extremely kind, but you can’t close the bathroom door from the corridor, so it stays open after use; there isn’t enough space to hang wet towels or put clothes, which is fine for 3–4 people; our boat was directly on the pedestrian side of the canal, and at night several drunk people walked close by and made noise.

The boat was lovely, with outdoor seating areas, a cute kitchen and living space, and cosy bedrooms. The single bathroom was spacious, and the extra facilities accessible near by (shower and toilets) were really useful - particularly to use any non-grey water safe toiletries. While the boat could technically sleep 8, I would say it comfortably sleeps 6, and a 7th could be accomodated. It is advertised as a 3 bed, so the 7th and 8th were always expecting to sleep on the sofa bed, but as it's a boat the (indoor) living space was very limited when the sofa bed was open, and with 8 peoples bags in the boat

I chose this place instead of a typical house or hotel, and it turned out to be a genuinely different experience. There was nothing to complain about; the stay was comfortable and every need was met.

The houseboat’s location is great and the atmosphere is unique. Both sleeping areas are generous for a boat, and the beds come with extra heating blankets in case it gets cold or uncomfortable. The facilities are good. The kitchen is functional, though there was a bit too much of everything. We enjoyed the weather and the ducks and swans swimming in the “front yard.” A supermarket is right around the corner, and restaurants are very close, making it an ideal starting point for tours to Edinburgh. At night, the ship’s gentle rocking is quiet and not disturbing, which is actually pleasant. However, we expected a washing machine on board based on the description; instead, there are communal washing machines and dryers in the harbor a few hundred meters away that require payment. Carrying laundry back and forth is okay, but we had different expectations for the price. The description also mentioned a toilet flushing system and odor to get used to; it’s not a normal toilet but acceptable on the boat if you’re aware. Parking is only available far away and is expensive, but for a short stop to drop off luggage it’s fine to stay nearby.
