The location was good, but the overall vibe felt like a 4‑star place that was clearly tired and under‑performed.

The spot is convenient and the garden is nice, but after staying three nights I found hair in my afternoon tea cake, and the staff offered a complimentary tea on the house—yet they still charged me £61 at checkout, claiming no record of the manager’s promise. The dining room smelled bad all day, and the rooms, bathrooms, and dining area all carried an old, unpleasant odor, so I won’t recommend it.

The room and breakfast were pleasant, though the £20.00 per person buffet felt a bit steep; you could get whatever you wanted. At the bar I had to wait a while, and staff walked past me until I finally stopped one of them to get served.
