“Must visit but beware of road”

The staff were friendly and felt like friends, the location is beautiful and secluded, peaceful, budget‑friendly with a view worth remembering, the food was tasty and could be customized if requested, and the Wi‑Fi was very fast. The road to get there is in poor condition, the bathroom and washroom are shared and the geyser works slowly; because it’s isolated, insects can be present, construction nearby (expansion) could block the view of the hills and Kanchanjanga, and the terrace gets a lot of light (light pollution) making star‑gazing difficult.

The journey to the hotel is tough when it rains, but the view from our room makes it worth it—we could see Kanchanjunga.

The hotel sits about a 20‑minute walk from the city centre, offering a lovely view; driving your own car makes the trip even better. Nothing else to note.

“Homestay pour jeune ermite qui vient méditer dans la montagne”

I had a mixed experience at this homestay. The hosts were incredibly kind and attentive, and the meals we had at their place were really enjoyable. However, the location was a major drawback - it was over half an hour away from the city center, with a significant elevation change, and felt quite isolated. Additionally, the amenities were limited and didn't match the description, making the price seem unreasonable.
