It was a cool spot to stay and could be great for a big group; the kids loved the arcade game in the bedroom, but there was an odd smell and the basement was cluttered.

The memory‑foam mattress and linens felt heavenly, and the fan and window AC kept the room a bit cooler, but finding the driveway in the dark was hard, the Timberline sign wasn’t visible until we drove a bit further, the floodlights pointed directly at us made the red crosses hard to see, an unidentified and unpleasant aroma greeted us at the lodge entrance, the window fan helped, the bathroom light was low wattage—fine at night but not for showering, there was no free shampoo, only a moisturizing gel that didn’t dispense, a 3‑in‑1 body wash/shampoo would be better for future guests, and we appreciated the mini fridge and two bottles of good water.
