The room and bathroom were spacious, fully equipped for a pleasant stay, and the buffet breakfast was included, varied, and tasty; everything was quite new and the free toiletries at reception were useful. Unfortunately, the location wasn’t as convenient as expected because there was a raised walkway over the street crossing and daily stair climbing added fatigue. Another issue was that most front‑desk staff didn’t speak English, making communication and paperwork difficult. For example, when we asked if they could send our luggage to our next destination, we had to go to a Yamato office because the staff initially said yes, but then told us they only handled luggage for another hotel with a front desk or an airport, forcing us to spend our last evening in Kyoto arranging this transport ourselves, which was quite unfortunate. The room‑service team changed sheets and towels whenever requested, but they did not clean the room.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, but the cleanliness left a lot to be desired; the train stations are reachable on foot, yet you have to climb many stairs, and there are almost no shops or restaurants nearby. The room was also cramped even for a single person.
