The dinner buffet showed real effort from the kitchen, especially the all‑you‑can‑eat sukiyaki where each plate came with meat, cabbage and wheat gluten, and we added the sauce ourselves and cooked it on the little portable burners at the table, even topping up the solid fuel as needed; I’ve stayed at many hotels and inns, but never seen a buffet with that kind of character. The front desk held us up a bit because the staff seemed unfamiliar with the reservation system.
