The hotel feels a bit dated, which shows in the facilities. The location is good, though in a small town that’s not remarkable. The kitchen is really good, and the standard dishes like the schnitzel were decent. Breakfast was okay; I’ve had worse before. The owner’s humor is borderline, almost mocking the guests, but at breakfast he’s friendly and approachable. The room was small and on a noisy main street. The beds were soft or sagging. The bathroom was especially cramped, and the sink was too small. The food was good, but I wasn’t happy with the wine from Assmannhäuser Höllenberg. I ordered the same wine twice and got two completely different drinks; the first was fine, the second was totally oxidized.

Everything was perfect! The hosts were friendly, loved chatting and joking, and helped us park our bus and navigate around roadworks when we left. The rooms were spotless, the food tasty, and breakfast hearty. Thanks!

The accommodation has a great location and is suitable for a weekend. Unfortunately the toilet was dirty upon arrival. The room is already very old. Breakfast is very simple, so I don’t feel the nightly price is justified.

The owner welcomed us warmly, served tasty breakfast, and let us pack snacks for the hike, even leaving bread bags ready. He offered useful advice for our next stay (no inn in Bornich) and called the local bakery to check if it would be open the next day! 😊 Thanks for that! The mattresses were good, and the food was plentiful and delicious. The house feels a bit dated, but everything was clean and the place is definitely worth recommending.
