The location was great and the surroundings were beautiful. Dinner was delicious. The staff were kind and helpful. I accidentally booked a lodge with the bedroom upstairs. The death staircase was steep and narrow. My husband and I ended up tossing clothes and things down the stairs instead of taking our lives in our own hands. Upstairs was hot and downstairs freezing. We could have built a fire, but we’re not boy scouts.

The fall scenery was beautiful. It was quiet, away from traffic and crowds, and you’re immersed in nature. The staff were helpful. The cabin had a nearly new, beautifully decorated interior. It’s close to the falls. There was no reception area near the entry gate, no smooth surface to roll suitcases—every time you had to lift them all the way to the room. It was confusing whether you needed to buy a park ticket to get to the resort.

The road to the hotel is a single‑wide, 2.5‑mile stretch with no lighting and only a 1.5‑car width. I had to check the billboard first and make sure the reception was the second building on the left, not the first, because there were no signs along the main path. It was dark, and we were already thinking about getting to our room, so that was our mistake. The property has many lodge‑style buildings, each with multiple rooms, and we stayed in a large studio that was well laid out and nicely decorated for the setting. The stone pathways with gaps are not ideal for rolling large luggage. The dining area had a charming atmosphere and a good selection of small buffet items, plus an egg menu. Dinner was served, and my wife loved the fish. The staff were helpful when our rental car battery died, which was not fun but everything worked out in the end.

Very well placed next to entrance 3. The dinner price can be a bit high.

The hotel is situated in a forest, and the room was good. Breakfast was a bit sparse, and the dinner quality fluctuated—one night it was delicious, the next was just okay. There was not enough staff for the level of service, and the restaurant area was somewhat tight in the fall. In summer it was less of an issue because many spots were outside.
