“FANTÀSTICA SITUACIÓ I EXCEL·LENT CASA”
The house’s location is unbeatable: right on the Sant Joan de Nepomucé viewpoint, the 360° views are amazing. Being next to the Sant Joan hermitage means that, along with the viewpoint, it isn’t completely isolated; each day cyclists and mountain tourists stop by to admire the spectacular panorama, which doesn’t disturb the house’s intimacy. Nearby there are picnic tables that also caused no inconvenience. Because the house is old, its thick walls and openings keep the interior temperature stable even during record European temperatures, though we had to cover ourselves with a sheet at night. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are spacious enough for 10 adults, with three bathrooms—one per floor. The living room and dining area on the ground floor are separated by a doorway without a door, which prevented us from all ten guests eating together. The village of La Serratella has a well‑maintained free municipal pool open for three hours in the afternoons (not every day), and we went there one afternoon—though it takes a 30‑minute walk downhill, two of us drove to pick up the staff and spare them the climb. The host, Joan from La Rosa dels Vents, was ready to help with anything, and we didn’t encounter any significant problems. We were lucky to witness the solar eclipse on August 12 from the house itself. That afternoon and evening the terrace filled with people, but it didn’t spoil the show; instead we shared the joy of this special event with many locals and visitors from all over the world. The only downside was that the teenage kids would have appreciated a pool table, a foosball table, or a ping‑pong table. Perhaps the host could consider fitting one of those games into the ground‑floor lounge, which doesn’t have a fireplace, and reserve the fireplace for a long table that seats all ten guests. For example, the wardrobe in that lounge takes up a lot of space and seems useless; I think it once stored board games that could be moved elsewhere.
