A beautiful large room with balcony, free parking, well‑located for exploring the surroundings and Riquewihr, and a good breakfast. Nothing negative.

“Stilvolles gemütliches Hotel, wunderbarer Aufenthalt trotz Überraschungsei”

The hotel felt cozy and traditional in warm tones, with comfortable beds and a nice bathroom, and a small fridge in the room. We stayed there in early August when it was extremely hot, and the unobtrusive air conditioning was worth its weight in gold. The breakfast offered a great selection and quality. The only downside was that eggs were only available at an extra cost (€1 per egg); they were not on the self‑serve buffet but had to be ordered and cooked in the kitchen, whether scrambled, fried, or boiled. We wanted a soft‑boiled egg, meaning a firm white and a runny yolk, typically called a three‑minute egg. The egg we received was still liquid, even the white, when we opened it. We tried again and asked for a five‑minute egg instead; the second egg was cooked to our liking (soft). However, on checkout we found two eggs on the bill even though the first one was clearly undercooked and not eaten. We didn’t complain at the time, but it was a bit annoying. In hindsight we should have asked the staff to at least make a fried egg from the already‑opened liquid one, but that didn’t occur to us then. Perhaps this experience will help future guests at this otherwise wonderful hotel.
