Hotel Garni Neckarblick

The hotel’s location is excellent, just a few minutes’ walk from the Neckar. The room was dirty, with hair everywhere in the bathroom. There was no heating in the bathroom, only a heater that lacked a power outlet. Overall, the hotel seems past its prime. The roof terrace is great, but it’s in terrible condition—faded flowers, etc. On the day of our departure, a snack vending machine was delivered, which seemed like a waste of money. On the bright side, there was a Senseo machine on the hallway. We were only passing through, so it’s a shame for the hotel.

“Goed voor overnachting.”

The village is nice. It’s not a luxury place, so don’t expect anything fancy. The hotel room is basic with a creaking wooden floor and carpeted floor. The bathroom is simple. Everything is present but dated. Breakfast is fine.

The parking in front of the door was convenient, but there was no staff on site to help. The shower head was broken and nobody was available to fix it. Used tissues were found under the bed, which really raised concerns about cleanliness. The bed was very unstable; tightening the screws would have helped. I booked a double room but found two single beds with about a 10 cm gap between them, and the mattresses were too short.

“Great place, location for the value!”

Everything about this guesthouse was great. We loved the overall experience, and the room and services surpassed our expectations—we’d definitely book again. The breakfast was abundant. Its proximity to the train station was a huge plus, letting us easily reach Heidelberg and other towns along the Neckar River. The only downside was that the sauna was closed, but that didn’t bother us. The bed frame’s corners were sharp; a padded or rounded frame would have been better.
