Residence Inn by Marriott Calgary Downtown/Beltline District

The location was good, right in downtown, within walking distance of attractions and a pedestrian street, but be careful when going out at night. The room was fully equipped but did not provide bottled water. The parking was at Indigo’s public lot, fully self‑service with no staff, and it took a long time to leave; having the hotel handle the payment would have made it much easier.

Marie, the receptionist, was very friendly and welcoming, gave solid local tips on what to visit and what to avoid, and the room she assigned us was exceptional and ready for us late in the morning.

The price was unbeatable, and the hotel turned out to be fantastic. The facilities were gorgeous, and the breakfast—every detail from the dining area to the food and especially the staff—was top‑class. One surprise during our stay: the fire alarm went off as we were getting up. We stepped outside for a quick walk while the alarm was checked, and everything was handled smoothly. We returned inside soon after, enjoyed breakfast, and went back to our room. It became a memorable moment, and I was really impressed by how seriously the staff took the alarm and how fast they responded. Of course, it wasn’t the best way to wake up if you’re hoping to sleep in, but since we were already up, the timing worked out fine. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and were very pleased with the hotel, the facilities, the breakfast, and the staff.
