I was able to relax in a calm atmosphere, and the room was spotless with meticulous cleaning; the staff’s thoughtful gestures were much appreciated, and the food was outstanding. The many stairs might be tough for older guests.

Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, but the bath was too hot; the first soak should have a temperature check.

From check‑in onward, the welcome was pleasant, and everyone received matcha and tamago yokan. The pre‑room‑entry briefing made the stay reassuring. Meals at dinner and breakfast were highly satisfying, with perfectly cooked rice that prompted refills. The bath system alternated male and female times, and the open‑air bath had a roof, which is essential in winter, and the water temperature was very good. The whole family enjoyed it. The building’s age shows in some construction joints and floor slopes that are noticeable but not uncomfortable; understanding them helps. In the bath, some areas lacked a shower, and the open‑air bath’s shower was unusable, which needs improvement.

The food was absolutely delicious; my brother, who’s tried many upscale inns, said this was a top‑tier place. I usually stay at buffet‑style hotels, but even I was very satisfied with the main dinner and breakfast. The sauna was missing, which was disappointing.

Despite being an old building, it was kept clean and the courtyard visible from the lobby was wonderful. The free‑drink area on the way to the hot spring was comfortable, and because there weren’t many rooms, the hot spring was uncrowded and I could soak slowly. The meals were very tasty, offering local flavors that left me satisfied. The wide selection of sake was eye‑catching, though I missed using the tasting coin. I stayed alone, yet the staff were friendly and chatty, making me feel warm.
