The outdoor area and beds were good. When I arrived, the water and electricity connections were unclear. The focus was on paying the deposit, which wasn’t clear at booking, and the departure time. I was charged €3 for two trash bags. The furniture and kitchen inventory seemed to be mismatched.

The place is near the beach and Ostend, the double bed is comfortable, and the people at the camp are very friendly. The beach with dunes is nice. However, the accommodation has a huge plumbing issue that ruins everything. There’s an unbearable sewer smell coming from under the sink and the toilet basin. The shower, probably clogged by sand, is blocked; you can’t stay more than 2 minutes without flooding. The rules even say don’t spend more than 2 or 3 minutes there. In 3 nights I couldn’t wash my hair. Because of the odor, you have to ventilate a lot, so mosquitoes come in (there’s no screen on the windows), and you have to fight them at night. The layout of the rooms is problematic. It isn’t obvious from the photos, but there’s no bathroom. There’s a toilet with a small basin, but the shower is in the room with the bunk bed. To reach the shower you better not be too tall because it’s tight. The accordion door of the toilet is just a few centimeters from the bunk bed. The bunk bed isn’t in a separate room; it’s in a space that contains the shower and a closed toilet access. It was very hard to spend 3 nights in that stench. We had trouble with people who came after us.

The spot, the chalet, and the neighbors were great, but there was little to do on the campsite itself, and the entrance toilet was dirty; only regular guests were informed when something was happening.

We had a wonderful holiday; the accommodation had everything we needed, and both the host and the campsite staff were very friendly, so we’ll definitely come back.

We’re long‑time users of the booking platform and usually don’t complain, but this chalet forced us to speak up. There was no Wi‑Fi despite being advertised, the whole property looked worn and wasn’t very clean, and we were hit with an extra charge of €3,10 for two nights for two people on arrival. The cooking area was basically unusable – tolerable for two adults but a real problem for a family with kids – and the distance to the beach was listed incorrectly, which we would have swallowed if it weren’t for a serious safety issue. As a tradesman with over 30 years in interior work and electrotechnics, I found the main fuse box mounted right next to the shower in the same room as the children’s beds, surrounded by cleaning tools, paint cans and other gear under the bed. The exposed wiring, multiple power strips chained together, and the haphazard “modernisation” of this roughly 50‑year‑old house create a clear fire hazard that any layperson can see. This danger needs to be taken seriously, especially for families with small children.
