When I got to Iprari it was almost 8 p.m.; I’d left Zhabeshi at 8 a.m., covering over 30 km. I was exhausted, cold, hungry, and my phone had no signal. The landlady at Elo’s Guesthouse immediately sent her husband to pick me up by car. The mountain road was dangerous, yet he drove steadily and safely to the guesthouse. As soon as I entered, she served me a hot meal that eased the day’s fatigue. She then showed me to my room and turned on the heater. Knowing I had blisters, she brought iodine to treat them, making for a cozy night. The next morning I had a hearty breakfast, after which they drove me back to the trailhead. Though it was a solo trip, I felt incredible warmth and posted a review on social media praising Elo’s Guesthouse.

The bathroom had a shower screen and hot water. Everything was very clean, the homemade food was tasty and plentiful. They even adjusted meal times to our arrival. The couple was very friendly. We strayed a little off the usual Ushguli route, but the next morning they drove us back to continue the trail.

Simple place, but fantastic family running it! We got a lovely dinner prepared in the evening and they arranged a driver for us both to/from the trail + from Ushguli to Mestia. Shoutout to Simon (driver) - he was great :) The family did everything to make us comfortable

It’s a bit farther outside Iprari, but they will pick you up. The family host truly embodies Georgian hospitality! Lovely hosts.
