A superb hotel on a splendid site in the centre of Barcelona. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly—especially Oscar—and the service throughout was faultless. The decor was lovely, and a real treat was visiting the roof bar in the evening to watch the visitors in the cathedral square.

The staff were extremely friendly. Breakfast was delicious, the bed was very comfortable, and the air conditioning worked very well. Oscar helped us get a cab and was really nice and helpful. Noise inside the hotel was horrific; we expected outside noise, which was fine, but every movement inside was extremely loud. There was a sewage smell from the shower drain that hit our nostrils every time we returned to the room. The bathroom was terribly built—water ran from the shower into the rest of the bathroom. Five‑star service, three‑star hotel.
