“Everything was good except for the “Table Remarkable” which was more like “Table Unremarkable””
The building is beautiful with lovely front gardens, and the breakfast was nice. Rooms were good, and there was a lift. The nearby village is charming, and there’s a nice café/bar/restaurant called “Au tour de Monde”. It’s well positioned for the Euro‑Shuttle, Zudycote, Bray‑Dunes, and the Belgian coast up to Ostend. For reasons I can’t explain, French seaside resorts seem less appealing than Belgian ones. We drove to De‑Panne in Belgium and took the tram to Koksijde. Grand Fort Philippe near Dunkerque is worth a visit. The dining experience was branded “Table Remarkable”. On the first night the main courses arrived cold and the large piece of veal wasn’t cooked through. On the second night I received a fish dish that was actually a main course, consisting of two tiny fish pieces with an unpleasant foam mousse, a slice of pumpkin, and what I think was chestnut puree. They were very stingy with the bread during dinner.
