“Complimenten voor hotel garni Lindenmühle in Ahrweiler.”
In an area that suffered badly from the 2021 floods, this cozy family hotel still stands, with the whole Ahrdal region focused on rebuilding; we had a very welcoming experience at hotel Lindenmühle, the breakfast was fantastic with plenty of bread, spreads, homemade jams, extras, cheeses, juices, and a cooked or fried egg each day, whatever you wanted; the breakfast room was cozy; the beds surprised us by having the headboard adjustable; the room was pleasant; the small bathroom had a good shower; the bedding and towels were clean; bring your own laundry; the entrance to the rooms had a small step; parking costs 3 € per day on site; we received an Ahrpas public transport card at check‑in, costing 2,50 € per person per day, added to the total at departure, which is handy for travelling by train or bus to nearby villages and towns; you can leave your car there; Ahrweiler offers plenty of restaurants to choose from, tip: Jägershof, very good food at a reasonable price, but reserve; restaurants sometimes close as early as 19:30, some until 22:00, most are open from Monday to Sunday, some on other days; the hotel provides an overview; the hotel only serves breakfast between 8 and 11, but that’s plenty of time to plan ahead; there is a sweet herding dog who sometimes runs the reception, and you don’t have to worry about that; the pillows were a bit too firm for my taste, but otherwise we were missing nothing.
