The room stayed clean and tidy, and the shower was perfect.

The spot was perfect for me – just a stone’s throw from where I needed to be. Unfortunately the bathroom was a let‑down: the shower was mouldy, the head was broken and the fans were covered in dust. I’d have liked a bit more upkeep.

The whole building feels ancient; the décor, the furniture, everything looks like it belongs in another decade. Nothing about it feels refreshed.

The room was seriously under‑equipped – no teaspoons, no kettle fill point, no glasses for the tap, and not a single blanket, just a few spare pillows. The cupboard doors were loose, the place sat right on a highway making it noisy, and getting in and finding parking was a nightmare.
