Sherwood Castle by Liv Retreats

The company advertised a hot tub, but none existed, so I left early and asked for a refund; the retreat refused liability and blamed the last‑minute cabin change for the issue.

The view from the cabin was great, but the fire we saw in the picture wasn’t what we arrived to.

“Excellent like all past other stays with them”

We've stayed here several times and absolutely love it! We always try to book a secret retreat cabin; it's in a great spot, the cabin itself is charming and cozy, and it’s perfect for families with toddlers, juniors, and teens. I was hoping for patio‑style heaters in the hot‑tub area because it can get chilly; the bungalow has them, so I try to book that for the reason. There’s not much to dislike.

“Don't bother not worth the money”

The only bright spot was the woods that made it feel peaceful, but the ad promised four beds while we got only three and a sofa‑bed cushion; the boiler failed, leaving no hot water or heating, and the outdoor hot tub lacked lighting, so we had to run a portable light extension through the bathroom—dangerous. The staff ignored my complaints until a lawsuit might force them to act, which they will eventually.

“Lovely getaway, but wouldn't come back”

It’s a nice little getaway, and the secret garden room with hot tub was wonderful, but it feels a bit outdated and needs some maintenance on the property and facilities.
