“A very uncomfortable and horrible stay - would not recommend.”

The bathroom had a light‑up mirror, and there were throws and biscuits available. John mentioned that the B&B has been operating for 34 years, yet in that time the mattresses and pillows never seem to have been updated; they were so uncomfortable that we had to sleep on the duvets and cover ourselves with the throws, and the pillows were so flat that they hurt our necks. My mum woke up with a severe backache the next morning, making it one of the worst nights’ sleep I’ve ever had. The breakfast was lukewarm and appeared to have been left standing for a while; the quality of the food was poor and not fresh, so we left most of it uneaten even though we were very hungry.

“Quality in every aspect”

I didn’t expect a conversion of such an old building to be so well thought out, designed, and furnished; breakfast offered everything possible with excellent quality ingredients, well cooked, and each table had its own toaster.

I was amazed by the scenery and the calmness; it’s rare to find such complete solitude, but this place delivers. The spot is perfect for trips to Framlington, Aldeburgh, and the like. We booked the luxury 4‑poster bedroom, which was flawless, yet the stairs to the room were so narrow that anyone with mobility issues would struggle to climb them.
