The location was good, allowing a quick walk into town, but there is no daylight, so it stays dark; the kids should sleep in the basement where there are no windows, and it gets very hot with only a fan running all day and clattering water pipes at night.

The hotel is close to the historic center, yet it sits in a less frequented area that requires a fairly steep climb to reach; the room is at street level, so you can’t open the window and must keep the AC on, which blows directly onto the bed—unbearable in my view; the adjoining room is essentially a basement without a window, making it suffocating.

The place itself is great, with two floors and a shared area that includes a kitchen, fridge, and plenty of space for everyone; however, it can feel a bit disrespectful, especially at night, though the residents are hardworking and calm.

Th general location was handy to Rossio, which I needed to be near. It was up a long steep hill, however, through a semi-sketchy neighborhood. See my comments later about the check-in surprise. The room was just fine
